MINUTES


Representative Lesch called the meeting to order at 10:10 A.M. on Friday, March 14, 2008, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF 3302, the Committee Engrossment (Atkins): A bill for an act relating to data practices; preserving data; classifying data; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 13D.05, subdivision 3; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 13.

Representative Bigham moved HF3302 before the committee.

Representative Atkins presented his bill.

Representative Bigham moved that HF 3302, the Committee Engrossment, be recommended to pass and when so passed be placed on the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 3850 (Paymar): A bill for an act relating to courts; limiting testimony of domestic abuse advocates without consent of victims; amending Minnesota Statutes 2007 Supplement, section 595.02, subdivision 1.

Representative Paymar moved to orally amend HF 3850 as follows:

Page 4, line 9, delete "may not" and insert "may"
Page 4, line 10, before the period insert "or by order of the court"
Page 4, line 20, after the first “by" insert “or under the direct supervision of"

Representative Paymar withdrew the first part of his motion to orally amend HF3850.

Responding to questions by committee:

Chair Lesch moved to strike the second part of Representative Paymar's motion to orally amend HF 3850. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Olin moved to orally amend HF 3850 as follows:

Representative Paymar renewed the third part of his motion to orally amend HF 3850. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
