Representative Mullery, Chair, called the meeting to order at 12:40 P.M. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF 457 (Gardner): A bill for an act related to public safety; expanding an existing law enforcement tool regarding record keeping of purchases by scrap metal dealers; requiring registration; providing penalties; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 325E.21.

Chair Mullery moved the bill and the A07-0019 delete everything amendment before the committee.

Representative Gardner presented HF 457. Testifying in favor:

On a vote of 11 Nays and 6 Ayes, the MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Chair Mullery moved the A07-0019 delete everything amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Mullery moved that HF457, as amended, be passed and re-referred to the Committee on Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs.

Representative Kohls requested a roll call vote. The results were as follows:

Chair Mullery moved to lay HF 584 on the table. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
