MINUTES


Representative Cy Thao, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 12:30 P.M. on Monday, February 19, 2007, in Room 400S of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Chair Thao moved that HF57 be taken up for consideration.

HF57 (Thissen) Board of Medical Practices advisory councils expiration dates extended.

Chair Thao moved that HF57 be amended as follows:

Page 1, line 10 and 13, delete rest of line after "15.059" and insert a "period"
Page 1, line 16 and 19, after the period, delete rest of line
Page 2, line 32, delete the line

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Providing testimony on behalf of the bill:

Rob Leach, Executive Director of the Board of Medical Practice

HF57 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Licensing Subcommittee Omnibus bill.

Chair Thao moved that HF212 be taken up for consideration.

HF212 (Liebling) Foreign medical school graduates authorized to use a credentials verification service

Providing testimony on the bill:

Frank Iossi, Mayo Clinic

HF212 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Licensing Subcommittee Omnibus bill.

Rep. Abeler moved that HF336 be taken up for consideration.

HF336 (Abeler) Speech-language pathologist and audiologist master's or doctoral degree requirement imposed.

Rep. Abeler moved the H0336A1 amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

HF336 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Licensing Subcommittee Omnibus bill.

Chair Thao moved that HF645 be taken up for consideration.

HF645 (Otremba) modifying provisions for individuals operating x-ray equipment

Linda Bruemmer, Department of Health
Mary Krinkie, MN Hospital Association
Dominic Sposeto, Dental Association

Rep. Hamilton moved the H0645A1 amendment.

Rep. Hamilton withdrew the H0645A1 amendment.

HF645 was laid over for possible inclusion in the Licensing Subcommittee Omnibus bill.

The meeting was adjourned at 1:40 P.M.
