Representative Paul Thissen, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:20 P.M. on, Thursday, February 22, 2007 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Loeffler moved that the minutes of February 20, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Thissen moved that HF633 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

HF633 (Sertich) regulating health plan coverage for hearing aids

Dr. Peggy Nelson, audiologist and professor at the University of Minnesota, parent and member of the Minnesota Commission Serving Deaf and Hard of Hearing People

Chair Thissen renewed his motion that HF633 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Thissen moved that HF595 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

HF595 (Laine) establishing a newborn home visiting program and a home visiting program

Chair Thissen moved the H0595DE1 amendment be adopted. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Thissen moved to amend the H0595DE1 amendment as follows:

Page 2, line 2.24 restore "public health nursing" delete "comprehensive"
Page 2, line 2.24 delete "of the family"
Page 3, line 3.11 delete "possible" and insert "available"
Page 3, line 3.11 after "offer" insert ", refer to or connect with"

THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
