MINUTES


Representative Hornstein, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order
at 2:18 P.M. on, Wednesday, March 14, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Madore assumed the Chair.

HF 639 Hortman

Rep. Hortman moved HF 639 be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy. Rep. Hortman moved to amend HF 639 as follows:

On page 5, line 19 after "$" insert "500,000"

On page 5, line 20, before "for" insert: "for the Center for Transportation Studies

at the University of Minnesota"

THE MOTION PREVAILED. After discussion on the bill, Rep. Hortman renewed her first motion. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Nelson moved the minutes of March 7, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1529 Hausman

Rep. Hausman moved the bill. Rep. Hausman moved the H1529DE1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. John Hauslauden, President, MN Trucking Association spoke to the bill. Rep. Hausman moved that HF 1529 be recommended to pass and rereferred to Transportation Finance and Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 673 Hornstein

Rep. Hornstein moved HF 673 be rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy without recommendation. Jeff Hamiel, Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) and Tom Anderson, General Counsel, MAC, testified on the bill. The Hornstein motion was renewed. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1159 Hornstein

Rep. Hornstein moved HF 1159. Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 1159 be recommended to pass and rereferred to the Committee on Transportation Finance and Policy for possible inclusion in the Transportation Policy bill. Rep. Hornstein moved the H1159A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The following spoke regarding the bill:
