Representative Lieder, Chair of the Division, called the meeting to order at 4:10 P.M. on Thursday, March 15, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present. Rep. Nelson moved the minutes of March 13, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 946 Lieder

Rep. Lieder moved HF 946. Rep. Lieder moved the H0946DE2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Matt Burress, House Research, assisted Rep. Lieder in presenting the bill. Bill Schreiber, Metro Transitways Development Board, answered some committee questions regarding HF 946. HF 946, as amended, was laid over.

HF 311 Hornstein

Rep. Hornstein moved HF 311. Donny Harder, Minneapolis 9th Grader assisted in presenting the bill. Elmer Otto, Shakopee, shared a video regarding cell phone use and driving. Rep. Hornstein moved HF 311 be rereferred to the Finance Committee with a recommendation to be rereferred to Public Safety and Civil Justice. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 1058 Thissen

Rep. Lieder moved HF 1058. Rep. Lieder moved the H1058A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. Rep. Lieder moved the H1058A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The following spoke in favor of the bill:
