MINUTES


Representative Lieder, Chair of the Division, called the meeting to order at 4:03 P.M. on Thursday, March 8, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present. Rep. Severson moved that the minutes of Tuesday, March 6, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
HF 1463 Hortman
Rep. Hortman moved adoption of HF 1463 and that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Transportation Finance bill. Rep. Hortman moved adoption of amendment H1463DE1. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The following spoke regarding the bill:

HF 1463 was amended and laid over.
HF 1112 Madore
Rep. Madore moved adoption of HF 1112 and that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Transportation Finance bill. Rep. Madore moved amendment H1112A1. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The following spoke regarding the bill:

HF 964 Ruth

Rep. Ruth moved adoption of HF 964 and that it be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Transportation Finance bill. Mayor of Owatonna, Tom Kuntz and James Clark, Messerli and Kramer spoke regarding the legislation. The bill was discussed and laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus Transportation bill.

The meeting adjourned at 5:40 P.M.

HF1463 (Hortman) Metropolitan area sales tax referendum required to impose a tax for transportation and transit, county sales taxes for transportation purposes authorized, and money appropriated.
HF1112 (Madore) Transit fund established, metropolitan sales tax imposed and funds dedicated to transit, and motor vehicle sales tax revenues transferred.
HF1244 (Masin) Motor vehicle sales tax proceeds apportionment provided.
