MINUTES


Representative Lieder, Chair of the Division, called the meeting to order at 4:05 P.M. on Tuesday, February 6, 2007, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present. Rep. Masin moved that the minutes of Thursday, February 1, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

An overview on Railroads was given by:
Bill Gardner, Director, Freight, Rail and Waterways, Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT)
John Apitz, Legislative Counsel, Minnesota Rail Road Association
Brian Sweeney, Legislative Counsel, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad
Cecil Selness, Director, Office of Freight and Commercial Vehicle Operations

An overview on Ports and Waterways was given by:
Dick Lambert, Director, Ports and Waterways, MnDOT
Lorrie Louder, Director of Development, St. Paul Port Authority

HF 106 Thissen

Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 106 First Committee Engrossment (CEH0106-1) as amended and without recommendation be re-referred to the Committee on Finance with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Public Safety and Civil Justice. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 147 Johnson, S.

Rep. Hornstein moved that HF 147 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on State Government Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:33 P.M.
