MINUTES


Representative Michael Paymar, Chair of the Public Safety Finance Division Committee, called the thirty-eighth meeting to order at 8:06 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

HF2823 (Bigham) Dakota County restorative justice services funding provided.

Rep. Bigham presented HF2823.

HF2863 (Cornish) Family substance abuse treatment services funding provided.

Rep. Cornish presented HF2863.

Testified in support of HF2863:

A quorum was present at 8:30 a.m.

Rep. Cornish moved HF2863 to be heard.

Rep. Cornish moved an oral amendment to HF2863 as follows:
Page 1, line 6, after "$"
delete "….."
insert "250,000"
[And amend the title accordingly]
THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.


Chair Paymar renewed the motion that HF2863 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance supplemental budget bill.

Rep. Bigham moved that HF2823 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance supplemental budget bill.

Rep. Lesch moved approval of the minutes for February 19. MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

HF3231 (Lesch) Homeless outreach grants provided.

Rep. Lesch moved and presented HF3231.

Testified in support of HF3231:
Patrick Arden Wood, Public Policy Director, MN Coalition for the Homeless
Monica Nilsson, Director of Outreach, Saint Stevens

Chair Paymar laid over HF3231 for possible inclusion in the Public Safety Finance Division supplemental budget bill.
