MINUTES


Representative Mike Jaros, Chair of the Minnesota Heritage Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:01 PM. On March 12, 2007, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 4:03 PM.

Chair Jaros invited the following people to provide an informational overview of Public TV:

Bill Sanford, General Manager of Bemidji/Brainerd Public TV.
Al Harmon, General Manager of Minnesota Public Television Assocition.
Jon Panzer, Station Manager of Appleton Public TV.

Representative Kahn moved HF 1181 be laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

HF 1181-Kahn
A bill for an act relating to communications; appropriating money for grants to noncommercial television.

The following people provided testimony in favor of the bill:

Bill Strusinski, Executive Director of Minnesota Television Association
Jim Pagliarini, President of Twin Cities Public TV.

HF 1181 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Correction to minutes of February 26, 2007. Representative Dean moved the minutes from February 26 as corrected. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Representative Kahn moved that the minutes from March 5, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
