MINUTES
Representative Karen Clark, Chair, called the first meeting to order at 10:02 a.m. on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Clark called the meeting to order at 10:02 a.m.
A quorum was present.
Representative Severson and Representative Laine provided their impressions of the previous night's Homeless Shelter Tour.
Chuck Johnson, Assistant Commissioner for Children and Family Services at the Department of Human Services, provided an overview.
Michael Dahl, Executive Director of the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless provided an overview of homelessness in Minnesota and the services offered by various organizations.
Wendy Wingman, Director of Programs for Simpson Housing Services provided an overview of the transitional housing program.
Jessica Lefler, participant in the Simpson Transitional Housing Program, related her experiences with Simpson Housing Services' Transitional Housing Program.
Leslie Frost, Executive Director of Families Moving Forward, provided an overview of the organization.
Michael Dahl, Executive Director of the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless, responded to the committee's questions.
Representative Tschumper moved that the minutes of January 24, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:29 a.m.
