EIGHTY-FIFTH SESSION TWELFTH MEETING

HEALTH CARE AND HUMAN SERVICES FINANCE DIVISION

A quorum not present, Chair Huntley began the twelfth meeting at 12:37 p.m. on Thursday, February 8, 2007, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Chair introduced Doug Wood, M.D., of the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. A quorum now present at 12:38 p.m., the Chair formally called the meeting to order.

Representative Murphy moved adoption of the February 7 minutes. The motion prevailed and the minutes were adopted.

At the conclusion of his testimony, Dr. Wood responded to questions of the members.

Next on the agenda was St. Mary's Duluth Clinic regarding their Heart Failure Program. The overview was presented by Linda Wick, CNP, Manager of the Heart Failure Program. Others at the table from the program were:

Dr. Kim Boddicker, Co-Medical Director, Heart Failure Program
Ron Siebert, Director, Heart Center
Nancy Gilbert, RN, Heart Failure Program
Joseph Grant, St. Mary's Duluth Clinic

Larry Shelton, a former patient in the program, testified about his personal, positive experience with the program.

Testifiers responded to questions of the members.

Commissioner Dianne Mandernach, MN Department of Health, began testimony on the Governor's budget proposal. At 1:58 p.m., in the interest of time, the Chair adjourned the meeting. Other testifiers from Department of Health will return another day to begin their testimony.
