Representative Mindy Greiling, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:20PM on February 26, 2008, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Brown moved approval of the minutes for February 20, 2008 as corrected:
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.
Marty Vadis, Director, Division of Lands and Minerals, Department of Natural Resources, and Bob Tomlinson, Assistant Director, Division of Lands and Minerals, Department of Natural Resources, gave a presentation on Minnesota School Trust Lands and the Permanent School Fund.
Howard Bicker, Executive Director, Minnesota State Board of Investment, gave a presentation on the Permanent School Fund.
Representative Mariani answered questions regarding the Permanent Fund Advisory Committee.
HF2975 (Dittrich) A bill for an act relating to education finance; appropriating money for general education; eliminating the permanent school fund subtraction.
Representative Dittrich moved HF2975 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
HF2973 (Dittrich) A bill for an act relating to education finance; appropriating money for general education; eliminating the permanent school fund subtraction; dedicating permanent school fund revenue for technology.
Representative Dittrich moved HF2975 be laid over for possible inclusion in the Omnibus K-12 Education Finance Bill.
Representative Dittrich, Representative Garofalo, and Grace Schwab, Governmental Relations Director, Minnesota School Boards Association, testified on HF2975 and HF2973.
The meeting adjourned at 3:50PM.
