MINUTES
Representative Al Juhnke, Chair, called the twenty-seventh meeting to order at 10:12AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in Basement of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rick Rone, Lake County Veteran Service Officer (CVSO), and Lynette Lebray, Sherbourne County County Veteran Service Officer, presented their perspectives on Minnesota veterans programs, emerging needs, 2008 priorities and concerns about the auditor's report on County Veteran Service Officers.
Discussion and questions followed.

Clark Dyrud, Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs, and Mike Puglesi, Deputy Commissioner, Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs discussed veterans programs, the auditor’s report and answered questions.

Todd Kubinski, Scott County Veteran Service Officer, discussed veterans grant programs and his first-hand experiences as a CVSO.
Jim Nobles, Legislative Auditor, gave comments on the auditor’s report on County Veteran Service Officers.
HF2683; a bill relating to agriculture; modifying the expiration date for the Minnesota Agriculture Education Leadership Council; amending Minnesota Statutes 2006, section 41D.01, subdivision 4.
Chair Juhnke moved to reconsider HF 2683.
Representative Otremba removes the motion that HF 2683 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Doty moved that the minutes of February 20, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Representative Peterson moved that the minutes of February 26, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
