MINUTES


Representative Kent Eken, Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:09 P.M. on Thursday, March 8th, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Hoppe moved approval of the minutes of March 6th, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

HF 934 (Clark) Polybrominated diphenyl ether manufacture and sale restricted.

Chairman Eken moved that HF 934 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor.

Chairman Eken moved an oral amendment to HF 934 as follows:
On line 3.12 after "charity," add "public entity,".
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Steve Maki, RTP Company, answered question from the committee on HF 934.

Chairman Eken renewed his motion that HF 934, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Commerce and Labor. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 589 (Peterson) Clean energy equipment loan program established; cellulosic biofuel development and bioenergy initiatives provided; Reinvest in Minnesota energy program created; enforcement provided; technical committee authorized, and money appropriated.

Chairman Eken moved HF 589, the 2nd engrossment, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Rural Economies, and Veterans Affairs.

Representative Hansen assumed the gavel at 5:19 P.M.

HF 1666 (Eken) Terrestrial and geologic carbon sequestration reports and studies required, and money appropriated.

Chairman Eken moved HF 1666 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance.

Chairman Eken moved the H1666A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chairman Eken renewed his motion that HF 1666, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 151 (DeLaForest) Conservation Reserve Program; Congress memorialized, by resolution, to reauthorize the Conservation Reserve Program and the Wetlands Reserve Program as part of the 2007 Farm Bill.

Representative Hoppe moved that HF 151 be recommended to pass.

Representative Hoppe moved the A07-0164 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Hoppe renewed his motion that HF 151 be recommended to pass. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 5:31 P.M.
