MINUTES


Representative Kent Eken, Chair, called the meeting to order at 4:10 P.M. on Tuesday, February 20th, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative McNamara moved approval of the minutes of February 13th, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

Representative McNamara moved approval of the minutes of February 15th, 2007. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.

Kent Lokkesmoe, Department of Natural Resources, and Henry VanOffelen, Minnesota Waters, gave a presentation on shoreline regulations and answered questions from the committee.

HF 849 (Moe) Shoreland resorts development regulation provided.

Representative Moe moved HF 849 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Announcement: Bills Previously Referred to Game, Fish, and Forestry Division by Memo:

HF 960 (Simpson) Deer hunting license fees for nonresident youth provided at resident rate.

HF 1016 (Hansen) Forest pest control measures provided.

HF 1021 (Dill) Lake Superior commercial fishing provisions modified.

HF 1035 (Solberg) Itasca County; tax-forfeited land assurance fee exemptions provided for certain exchanged land.

HF 1093 (Hansen) Environment and natural resources trust fund provisions modified, clean water legacy and trust fund expenditures provided, state lottery in lieu tax disposition modified, money appropriated, and constitutional amendment proposed.

HF 1116 (Dill) Game and fish definitions, fees, license and stamp provisions, and possession and taking provisions modified; apprentice hunter validation provided; and criminal and civil penalties imposed.
