MINUTES
Representative Jim Davnie, Chair of the Division, called the second meeting to order at 10:02 A.M. on, January 19, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davnie called the meeting to order at 10:02 A.M. A quorum was present.
Glenn Wilson, Commissioner of the Commerce Department gave an overview of the department. Commissioner Wilson introduced Edward Garvey, Commerce Deputy Commissioner of Energy and Telecom, Kevin Murphy, Deputy Commissioner of Financial Exams and Patrick Nelson, Deputy Commissioner of Market Assurance.
Lori Swanson, Minnesota Attorney General gave an overview of the office of the Attorney General.
Representative Dittrich moved that the minutes of January 12, 2007 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Keith Weigel, Advocacy Director from AARP, Minnesota State Office gave an overview and gave division members a handout "Key Elements for Informed Choice and Consumer Protection in the Wireless Telecommunications Marketplace".
Brad Lehto, Legislative Director of the Minnesota AFL-CIO gave an overview and gave division members a handout and folder "Minnesota AFL-CIO. Mr. Lehto also introduced Jennifer Schaubach, Legislative Support Specialist for the Minnesota AFL-CIO.
Kyle Makarius, Legislative Director and Kristin Beckmann from Change to Win, gave an overview to division members.
Carl Cummins, President, of the Workers' Compensation Reinsurance Association gave an overview to division members and gave a handout of the presentation to the members.
Ron Elwood, Staff Attorney for Legal Services Advocacy Project gave an overview to the division.
Robert D. Johnson from the Insurance Federation of Minnesota gave an overview to division members.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:32 A.M.
