BIOSCIENCES AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES COMMITTEE

MINUTES


Representative Tim Mahoney, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:03AM on January 24, 2007 in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Ruth moved that the minutes of January 23, 2007 be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Norton assumed the gavel at 10:04AM.

HF132(Mahoney)

Representative Mahoney moved that HF 132, a bill for an act relating to economic development; establishing the Minnesota Biomedical Sciences Research Facilities Authority and the biomedical sciences research project funding program, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Governmental Operations, Reform, Technology and Elections Committee. Discussion followed.

Representative Mahoney moved that amendment H0132DE1 (attached) be adopted.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED. Further discussion followed.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:25AM.
