MINUTES


Representative Otremba, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at
8:27 A.M. on March 5, 2008, in Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Hosch moved approval of the minutes from March 3, 2008.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE MINUTES WERE ADOPTED.

Representative Brown moved HF 2573, be recommended to pass and re-referred to General Register.

Representative Hansen, explained HF 2573, relating to agriculture; modifying prohibited uses of pesticide;

Representative Eken moved to amend HF 2573 as follows:

Page 2, line 28 after "apply", insert, "for hire" and
delete "wrong" and insert “incorrect"
Page 2, line 30 after “manager" insert “or property manager"
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.


Representative Eken moved to amend HF 2573 as follows:

Page 2, line 31 after “labeling" insert “, for public health services"

Representative Eken moved to amend the amendment as follows:

Page 2, line 28, delete “It" and insert “Except for public health purposes, it"
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Brown renewed her motion that HF 2573, be recommended to pass as amended and re-referred to General Register.

Representative Faust moved HF3361, be recommended to pass and re-referred to General Orders.

Representative Faust, explained HF 3361, relating to agriculture; changing certain payment provisions for certain agricultural chemical corrective actions costs;

Testifying in favor of HF 3361 were:

Representative Faust renewed his motion that HF 3361, be recommended to pass and re-referred to General Orders.

Representative Juhnke moved HF3362, be recommended to pass and re-referred to Committee on Finance.

Representative Juhnke, explained HF 3362, relating to agriculture; authorizing certain administrative actions related to pesticide and fertilizer regulation;

Representative Juhnke renewed his motion that HF 3362, be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Committee on Finance.
THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chairman Otremba moved the Division Report on HF 3240, be recommended to pass and re-referred to General Register

Representative Eken moved amendment CEH3240-1.
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Dominguez, explained HF 3240, relating to veterans; authorizing the placement of a plaque in the court of honor on the Capitol grounds to honor Mexican-American veterans of the United States armed forces.

Testifying in favor of HF 3240 were:

Representative Severson, explained HF 3298, relating to military; repealing authorization for the state Persian Gulf War ribbon;

THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
