MINUTES


Representative Phil Krinkie, Chair of the Taxes Committee, called the thirty-third meeting to order at 12:15 PM on Tuesday, June 7, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. ABRAMS discussed the content of HF0875 for informational purposes.

Rep. LENCZEWSKI discussed the content of HF2359 for informational purposes.

Rep. ABRAMS presented for informational purposes a delete everything amendment which mirrors the Governor’s cigarette health impact fee proposal.

Dr. Paul Wilson presented an overview of his memo regarding growth rates for cigarette tax revenue compared to other taxes, as well as an overview of his memo regarding the regressivity of the cigarette excise tax.

Rep. SIMPSON moved the minutes of 5/4/05, 5/5/05, 5/6/05 and 5/16/05 be approved.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:00 PM.
