MINUTES


Representative Paulsen, Chair of the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration, called the thirty-sixth meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 in Room 118 of the State.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

The first matter under consideration was the approval of the minutes from the meeting on Wednesday, April 12, 2006.

Rep. Sertich moved that the minutes be approved.

The MOTION PREVAILED; THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, APRIL 12, 2006 WERE APPROVED.

The second matter under consideration SF2734 (Hackbarth).

Rep. Paulsen moved that SF2734 be recommended to pass.

Rep. Hackbarth presented SF2734.

Rep. Paulsen moved that the A06-1558 amendment be adopted.

Rep. Carlson requested a roll call vote on the A06-1558 amendment.

Voting aye: Paulsen; Abrams; Anderson, Bruce; Hoppe; Johnson, Jeff; Kohls; Magnus; Samuelson; Seifert; Smith and Sviggum.

Voting no: Bernardy; Carlson; Hosch; Juhnke; Kelliher; Loeffler; Moe; Ozment; Poppe; Sailer; Sertich and Tingelstad;

There being 11 ayes and 12 nays, AMENDMENT A06-1558 DID NOT PASS.

Patrick McCormack, House Research Director explained the A5 amendment.

Rep. Paulsen moved that the A5 amendment be adopted.

The MOTION PREVAILED; THE A5 AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Leslie Davis testified regarding SF2734.

Rep. Carlson requested a roll call vote on SF2734 as amended.

Voting no: Abrams; Anderson, Bruce; Seifert and Sviggum.

There being 19 ayes and 4 nays, SF2734 WAS PASSED AS AMENDED.

The meeting adjourned at 7:50 p.m.
