MINUTES


Representative Erik Paulsen, Chair of the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration called the eleventh meeting to order at 1:05 P.M. on Monday, April 18, 2005, in Room 400S of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

The first matter under consideration was the approval of the minutes from the meeting on Monday, April 11, 2005.

Rep. Sertich moved that the minutes be approved.

The MOTION PREVAILED; THE MINUTES FROM THE MEETING ON MONDAY, APRIL 11, 2005 WERE APPROVED.

The second matter under consideration was the Proposed Calendar for the Day for Tuesday, April 19, 2005.

Rep. Johnson moved that the Proposed Calendar for the Day be approved.

The MOTION PREVAILED; THE PROPOSED CALENDAR FOR THE DAY FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 19, 2005 WAS APPROVED.

The third matter under consideration was H.F. 2279.

Rep. Paulsen moved H.F. 2279.

Rep. Kohls explained why H.F. 2279 missed committee deadlines.

Rep. Paulsen renewed his motion that H.F. 2279 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.


The MOTION PREVAILED; H.F. 2279 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND BE PLACED ON THE GENERAL REGISTER.

The fourth matter under consideration was H.F. 2129.

Rep. Paulsen moved that H.F. 2129 be recommended to pass.

Rep. Beard explained why H.F. 2129 missed committee deadlines.

Rep. Carlson moved that H.F. 2129 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

Rep. Carlson renewed his motion that H.F. 2129 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Taxes.

The MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL; H.F. 2129 WAS NOT RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND BE RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON TAXES.

Rep. Carlson called for a devision.

There being 9 ayes and 10 nayes, THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Rep. Paulsen renewed his motion that H.F. 2129 be recommended to pass and be placed on the General Register.

The MOTION PREVAILED; H.F. 2129 WAS RECOMMENDED TO PASS AND BE PLACED ON THE GENERAL REGISTER.

The fifth matter was the House Budget.

Paul Schweizer, House Controller, presented an overview of the budget and the budget.

Discussion.

Rep. Paulsen moved that the House Budget be approved.

The MOTION PREVAILED; THE HOUSE BUDGET WAS APPROVED.

The meeting adjourned at 1:50 P.M.
