MINUTES


Representative Fran Bradley, Chair of the Health Policy and Finance Committee, called the twenty-third meeting to order at 10:17 a.m. on Tuesday, March 8, 2005 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Eken moved approval of the minutes of March 3, 2005. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The minutes were approved.

HF1464 (Dean) A bill for an act relating to civil actions; reforming medical malpractice liability; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapters 147; 604.

Rep. Dean moved HF 1464 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law.

Rep. Dean moved to amend HF 1464 (see Amendment H1464A4 attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

A vote was taken on Amendment A05-0173. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Emmer moved to amend HF 1464 (see Amendment H1464A3 attached). THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Thao requested a Roll Call vote on HF 1464, as amended.

Rep. Dean renewed his motion that HF 1464, as amended, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Civil Law.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:05 p.m.
