MINUTES


Representative Fran Bradley, Chair of the Health Policy and Finance Committee, called the twenty-eighth meeting to order at 10:20 a.m. on Thursday, March 17, 2005 in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Rep. Goodwin moved approval of the minutes of March 16, 2005. THE MOTION PREVAILED. The minutes were approved.

The Chair announced the following bills will be referred to the Licensing Subcommittee:

HF 575 (Charron) physical therapist reciprocal licensure provided upon proof of previous practice.

HF 1190 (Abeler) clarifying the scope of practice of occupational therapists.

HF 1272 (Ruth) including marriage and family therapists in the definition of professional ervices.

HF 1776 (Abeler) Professional counselors licensing transition period provided.

HF 1840 (Abeler) Physician assistants physician review modified, and telephone information contained on prescriptions requirement eliminated.

HF 1865 (Abeler) Dental licensure provisions modified, and fees established.

HF1881 (Powell) Ambulance service provisions and first responder and emergency medical technician requirements modified, and emergency suspension of certain requirements provided.

HF1882 (Abeler) Alcohol and drug counselor licensure transition period modified, and temporary permit fee increased.

HF1918(Finstad) A bill for an act relating to health; modifying provisions relating to physical therapists; providing penalties; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, sections 148.65, by adding subdivisions; 148.706; 148.75; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 148; repealing Minnesota Rules, part 5601.0100, subparts 3, 4.

HF1935(Abeler) A bill relating to health; providing that audiologists need not obtain hearing instruments dispenser certification and providing penalties
