MINUTES


Representative Mark Buesgens, Chair of the Education Policy and Reform Committee, began the tenth meeting at 8:18AM on Thursday, February 24, 2005, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Representative Mark Buesgens called the tenth meeting officially to order at 8:23AM. A quorum was present.

Rep. Buesgens moved that HF896 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Government Operations committee.

Rep. Buesgens moved to orally amend HF896 by:
Delete Article 2, Sections 14, 15, and 17
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Buesgens moved to orally amend HF896 by:
Delete Article 2, Section 19
THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Rep. Davnie moved to withdraw his amendment.

Rep. Davnie moved to orally amend HF896 by:

Page 20, line 22, delete "public"
Page 20, line 24, after the period, insert "For non public schools,"
Page 20, line 24, delete "must" and insert "may"
Page 20, lines 24-26, reinstate stricken "made on the standardized forms or using the alternative format"
Page 20, line 26, before "submitted", insert "For public schools, the reports must be"

Rep. Davnie incorporated into his oral amendment to HF896:

Page 20, line 22, after "school", insert "except a home school"

THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.

Rep. Davnie called for a division.

THERE BEING 10 AYES AND 11 NAYS, THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL. THE AMENDMENT WAS NOT ADOPTED.
