Representative Barb Sykora, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the thirty-first meeting to order at 12:35 PM on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

HF1751 (Newman) Career and technical levy modified, and money appropriated
Rep. Newman moved HF1751 be recommended for possible inclusion in the Education Finance omnibus bill.
Rep. Newman presented HF1751.

Rep. Sykora laid over HF1751 for possible inclusion in the Education Finance omnibus bill.
HF1945 (Charron) Charter school sponsor duty to monitor and evaluate fiscal and student performance clarified, voluntary termination of charter school contract authorized, and charter school evaluation study required
Rep. Sykora moved HF1945 be recommended for possible inclusion in the Education Finance omnibus bill.
Rep. Charron presented HF1945.

Rep. Sykora laid over HF1945 for possible inclusion in the Education Finance omnibus bill.
HF1303 (Dean) Approval of up to five charitable organizations as charter school sponsors authorized
Rep. Sykora moved HF1303 be recommended for possible inclusion in the Education Finance omnibus bill.
Rep. Dean presented HF1303.

Bob Wedl, former Commissioner of Education, Sponsors Assistance Network
Morgan Brown, Director, School Choice and Innovation, Department of Education

Rep. Dorn moved to amend HF1303 with the H1303A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Rep. Sykora laid over HF1303, as amended, for possible inclusion in the Education Finance omnibus bill.
Rep. Dorn moved the minutes of: March 31, 2005. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
The meeting was adjourned.
