HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES EIGHTY-FOURTH SESSION
EDUCATION FINANCE COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Representative Barb Sykora, Chair of the Education Finance Committee, called the thirty-ninth meeting to order at 2:12 pm., on Monday, February 27, 2006 in Room 200 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.
The clerk noted the roll.

Jessie Montano presented NCLB update, AYP schools.
Dr. Tim Vansickle, Director of Testing for the State of Minnesota – update on testing.
Dr. Patricia Olson Assistant Commissioner addressed value-added model.
Representative Sykora introduced new staff, Kathy Dettman and Karen Balmer.
Beth Aune addressed Phase I Honor States Grant and high school redesign, Minnesota P16 Partnership.
Dr. Wherry discussed the National Governor’s Association Grant, NGA and other initiatives, programs and projects, including STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Math.
Mr. Bryce talked about the Permanent School Trust Fund Aggregate Inventory Project, Trust Fund Revenue Enhancement Project.
4:45 p.m. the meeting was adjourned.
