MINUTES


Representative Tim Wilkin, Chairman of the Commerce and Financial Institutions Committee, called the thirty-second meeting to order at 1:10 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8, 2006, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Clerk noted the roll.

Rep. Gazelka moved that the minutes from the meetings of February 22, February 28, and March 2, 2006, be approved.

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Gazelka assumed the gavel.

HF2500 (Wilkin) Individual health insurance policy forms filing and use regulated to establish a minimum loss ratio guarantee.

Rep. Wilkin moved that HF2500 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the General Register.

Rep. Wilkin moved to amend HF2500 with the HF2500A1 amendment.

Tom Pender, House Research, described the A1 amendment to the committee.

Rep. Wilkin renewed his motion to amend HF2500 with the HF2500A1 amendment.

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Wilkin presented HF2500, as amended.

HF2916 (Smith) Fire safety account established from fire premium and assessment revenue, fire insurance tax abolished and money appropriated.

Rep. Wilkin moved that HF2916 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Policy and Finance.

Rep. Smith presented HF2916.

Rep. Wilkin moved to amend HF2916 with the H2916A2 amendment.

Rep. Rukavina withdrew the H2916A3 amendment.

Rep. Wilkin renewed his motion that HF2916 be recommended to pass, as amended, and be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety Policy and Finance.

HF2514 (Atkins) Uniform Securities Act of 2002 adopted and modified, and criminal penalties prescribed.

Rep. Atkins moved that HF2514 be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the General Register.

Rep. Atkins moved to amend HF2514 with the A06-1144 amendment.

THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Rep. Atkins presented HF2514, as amended.
