Legislative Session Statistics

The statistics documents are compiled by the Index Department, a division of the Chief Clerk's Office. The documents are divided into two parts; "At A Glance" which provides a quick resource for legislative historians in determining the numbers of bills introduced in each body and bills enacted or vetoed by the governor; and "In Detail" which provides detailed breakdowns and percentages of all bills, with notations clarifying specific information. This part of the document includes specific information about bills passed and transmitted to the other body, concurrences, conference committee reports, and detailed lists of bills vetoed by the governor and resolutions filed with the secretary of state's office. Also included in the documents are tables and graphs showing statistics from previous sessions for the purpose of comparing and contrasting years or bienniums. The documents also provide the same types of information for any special sessions declared by the governor for that particular year.
