Consideration of Messages from the Senate

When an amended House file is received from the Senate, the House can either:

1. concur in the Senate amendments and repass the bill as amended by the Senate, or
2. refuse to concur in the Senate amendments and request that a conference committee be appointed.

If the Senate adopted amendments to the House file, the language of the unofficial engrossment is the Senate position. If the Senate inserted the language of the Senate companion into the House file, the Senate position is the language of the Senate file.

Due to time limitations, unofficial engrossments to House files (Senate position) may not be available on all bills.
