The House of Representatives convened at 11:00 a.m. and was called to order by Steve Sviggum, Speaker of the House.

 

Prayer was offered by the Reverend Lonnie E. Titus, House Chaplain.

 

The members of the House gave the pledge of allegiance to the flag of the United States of America.

The Chief Clerk proceeded to read the Journal of the preceding day. Garofalo moved that further reading of the Journal be suspended and that the Journal be approved as corrected by the Chief Clerk. The motion prevailed.

INTRODUCTION AND FIRST READING OF HOUSE BILLS

H. F. No. 96, A bill for an act relating to transportation; requiring Department of Transportation and Metropolitan Council to conduct study of bus rapid transit on the transportation corridor between Stillwater and St. Paul.

 

The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

 

 

Sykora and Buesgens introduced:

 

H. F. No. 97, A bill for an act relating to taxation; income; allowing a credit for contributions to school tuition organizations; amending Minnesota Statutes 2004, section 290.01, subdivisions 19a, 19b; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 290.

 

The bill was read for the first time and referred to the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration.

 

 

Sykora and Huntley introduced:

 

H. F. No. 98, A resolution memorializing the United States Secretary of State to refer the Devil's Lake outlet to the International Joint Commission.

MOTION TO SUSPEND RULES

 

Olson moved that the rules be so far suspended that House Concurrent Resolution No. 5 be recalled from the Committee on Rules and Legislative Administration and be placed upon its adoption.

 

 

A roll call was requested and properly seconded.
