1.6balance at the end of fiscal year 2023 does not cancel but is available for the purposes of
1.7this section until spent. This is a onetime appropriation."

1.11    "Sec. 49. EMERGENCY COMMUNITY SAFETY GRANTS.

1.13to local law enforcement agencies for the prevention and investigating of violent crimes in
1.14the state. If a chief law enforcement officer of a local law enforcement agency believes
1.15violence interrupters or violence interruption programs operated by another entity is reputable
1.16and helpful in preventing crime, the agency may use a portion of the grant funds to partner
1.17with or support violence interrupters or violence interruption programs.
1.18    Subd. 2. Reporting required. The recipient of a grant under this section shall file a
1.19report with the commissioner of public safety by December 15 of each calendar year in
1.20which funds were received or used. Reports must itemize the expenditures made, indicate
1.21the purpose of those expenditures, and describe the ultimate disposition, if any, of each
1.22case. The report must be on forms and pursuant to procedures developed by the
1.23commissioner."
