1.6The commissioner of education may implement a kindergarten readiness assessment
1.7representative of incoming kindergartners. The assessment must be based on the
1.8Department of Education Kindergarten Readiness Assessment at kindergarten entrance
1.9study. The commissioner of education must provide a process for measuring the
1.10kindergarten readiness of incoming kindergartners. Districts must choose from a menu of
1.11valid and reliable measurement instruments provided by the Department of Education that
1.12are aligned to the state early childhood indicators of progress and kindergarten standards
1.13that are based on the Department of Education Kindergarten Readiness Study and meet
1.14the World's Best Workforce goal of measuring school readiness."
