"I think that the new leadership has done an outstanding job of matching legislators with their strengths," Buesgens said. "We have paved the way for more efficient and effective government in the upcoming session and we look forward to ensuring that more people can be comfortable in their daily lives."
The Education Committee hears policy issues related to education, while the K-12 Education Finance Committee provides policy direction and funding for the state's K-12 education system. The Transportation Committee addresses policy matters regarding the state's transportation systems, including highways, trucking, transit systems, the Department of Transportation, the Department of Public Safety and the Metropolitan Council.
An assistant principal at Black Hawk Middle School in Eagan, Buesgens lists education as one of his top priorities and has expressed concern over transportation issues that may arise as the metro area continues to grow.
The Legislative Session will begin in early January, when Buesgens will be sworn into office.
