ST. PAUL State Representative Mark Buesgens ,R- Jordan, has received the endorsement for his re-election to the Minnesota House of Representatives from the Care Providers of Minnesota, an organization representing nursing homes and health care providers for the elderly throughout Minnesota.
"It has been a priority of our caucus to ensure that nursing homes and home health care agencies throughout the state have the resources to provide our seniors the highest level of care possible," Rep. Buesgens said.
Care Providers awarded Rep. Buesgens the endorsement based upon his commitment to Minnesota's long-term care community. Over the past two years, the legislature has approved a variety of measures that will help our senior population. This included increased wages for health care providers and nursing home workers and the expansion of the Senior Prescription Drug and Senior Property Tax Deferral Programs.
"Retaining caring and well trained staff is crucial to ensuring the quality of care our elderly population receives," Buesgens continued. "We can help with this by providing adequate wages for health care workers. For the past two years, direct care workers have received increases in their wages. I will continue working on issues that will help our seniors."
Care Providers of Minnesota, founded in 1947, now represents a widely diversified group of providers serving the elderly and disabled, from traditional nursing facilities to highly specialized subacute centers.
