WAYS AND MEANS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES

Representative Liz Olson, Chair of the Committee on Ways and Means, called the meeting to order at 9:02 A.M. on, Monday, April 24, 2023, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Olson moved that HF 1234 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the 8A amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Her presented HF 1234 as amended.

Representative Novotny moved to table HF 1234. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Chair Olson renewed the motion that HF 1234 as amended be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Vice Chair Edelson moved that the minutes of April 21, 2023, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF782 (Becker-Finn) Minnesota Secure Choice retirement program established, money transferred, and money appropriated

Representative Becker-Finn moved that HF 782 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Becker-Finn moved the DE1 amendment to HF 782. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Becker-Finn presented HF 782 as amended.

Representative Becker-Finn renewed the motion thar HF 782 as amended be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF2744 (Stephenson) Commerce Budget Bill

Chair Olson moved that SF 2744 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the DE4 amendment to SF 2744.

Representative Stephenson presented the DE4 amendment to SF 2744.

Chair Olson moved the A2 amendment to the DE4 amendment.

Representative Stephenson presented the A2 amendment to the DE4 amendment.

Chair Olson renewed the motion to adopt the A2 amendment to the DE4 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT, TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Stephenson presented the DE4 amendment, as amended, to SF 2744.

Chair Olson renewed the motion to adopt the DE4 amendment, as amended. THE MOTION PREVAILED.THE AMENDMENT, AS AMENDED, WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Stephenson presented SF 2744 as amended.

HF2 (Richardson) Family and medical benefit insurance program created, employment leave required, private plan substitution allowed, retaliation prohibited, data classified, expedited rulemaking authorized, and money appropriated

Chair Olson moved that HF 2 be re-referred to the General Register.

Chair Olson moved the A53 amendment to HF 2.

Representative Richardson presented the A53 amendment to HF 2.

Chair Olson renewed the motion to adopt the A53 amendment to HF 2. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
