STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Ginny Klevorn, Chair of the State and Local Government Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:31 A.M. on January 19, 2023, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Newton moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on January 17, 2023 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting recessed at 8:32 A.M.

The meeting reconvened at 8:37 A.M.

HF 19 (Olson L.); relating to employment; providing for earned sick and safe time; requiring a report; authorizing rulemaking; appropriating money; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022,
sections 177.27, subdivisions 2, 4, 7; 181.942, subdivision 1; 181.9436; 181.944;
proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapters 177; 181; repealing
Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 181.9413.

Chair Klevorn moved that HF 19 be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance & Civil Law Committee.

Representative L. Olson presented HF 19.

Chair Klevorn renewed her motion to re-refer HF 19 to the Judiciary Finance & Civil Law Committee.

Representative Nash requested a roll call vote.

The clerk noted the roll.

Chair Klevorn moved that HF 194 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Jordan presented HF 194.

HF 198 (Koegel); relating to local government; amending the conditions for participation in an open meeting from a nonpublic location; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022, section
13D.02, subdivision 1.

Chair Klevorn moved that HF 198 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Koegel presented HF 198.
