PUBLIC SAFETY FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
Representative Kelly Moller, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 11:36 AM on, February 29th, 2024, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hollins moved that the minutes of February 22nd, 2024, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF4300 (Becker-Finn) Standards for safe storage of firearms and criminal penalties established for failing to meet those standards.

Representative Becker-Finn moves that HF4300 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Representative Becker-Finn moved the HF4300A4 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Engen Moved the HF4300DE1 Amendment.

Representative Engen Requested a Roll Call Vote.

Representative Becker-Finn renews the motion that HF4300, as amended, be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 601 (Her) Lost and stolen firearms required to be reported promptly to law enforcement.

Chair Moller moved that HF601 be re-referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Moller moved the HF601A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Hudson moved the HF601A4 Amendment.

Representative Hudson Requested a Roll Call Vote.

The Joint Committee hearing on Feb. 29th will be a ticketed event. First come, first serve. The hearing will be broadcasted on the Minnesota House Live Webcast and Mobile Streaming. There will also be an overflow room.

This hearing will have remote testimony capability.

Immediately following the joint hearing, the Public Safety Finance and Policy Committee will take action on the bills.

Items may be added or removed at the Chair’s discretion.
