MINUTES

Representative Michael Nelson, Chair of the Labor and Industry Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 4:02 PM on March 30, 2023 in Room 10 of the State Office Building. It was broadcast via House Public Information Services.

A quorum was present.

Representative Mekeland moved the minutes from March 28, 2023. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF 2755 (Nelson); Governor's biennial budget established for Department of Labor and Industry, Workers' Compensation Court of Appeals, and Bureau of Mediation Services; earned sick and safe time provided; agricultural and food processing workers protected; nursing home workforce standards established; petroleum refinery workers protected; combative sports modified; miscellaneous policy provisions modified; reports required; and money appropriated.

Chair Nelson moved HF2755 be in front of the committee.

Vice Chair Berg moved HF2755 be re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

Chair Nelson moved the A23-0104 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Nelson moved the A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Schultz requested a roll call.

Representative Myers moved the A3 amendment. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Representative Myers moved the A6 amendment. THE MOTION DID NOT PREVAIL.

Representative Hussein moved the A9 amendment.

Representative Hussein withdrew the A9 amendment.

Representative Greenman moved the A11 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
