PUBLIC SAFETY AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE REFORM FINANCE AND POLICY COMMITTEE MINUTES

Representative Mariani, Chair of the Committee on Public Safety and Criminal Justice Reform Finance and Policy, called the virtual meeting to order at 1:01 PM on April 6th, 2021 pursuant to House Rule 10.01. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom and House Public Information Services.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Mariani moved that SF 304 be referred to the General Register.

Representative Quam presented SF 304, a bill for an act relating to public safety; requiring a policy for the use of confidential informants; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 626.

Chair Mariani renewed his motion that SF 304 be referred to the General Register.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 1078 be referred to the Committee on Ways and Means.

Chair Mariani moved the H1078DE3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Chair Mariani moved that HF 1078, as amended, be laid over future consideration.

*The Chair intends to waive the Amendment Rule regarding Amendments to Amendments and push back the Amendment deadlines 2 hours to the following for Thursday's omnibus bill mark up hearing: 1) Amendments to the DE will be due by Wednesday at 2pm; and 2) Amendments to Amendments to the DE will be due by Wednesday at 7pm
