MINUTES

Representative Hansen, Chair of the Environment and Natural Resources Finance Division, called the meeting to order at 12:46 P.M. on February 21st, 2019, in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Hansen called the meeting to order at 12:46 P.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Becker-Finn moved to approve the minutes of February 19th, 2019. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Hansen presented a resolution to Jim Leach, Fish and Wildlife Director, thanking him for his service and wishing him well in his retirement.

John Edman, Director, Explore Minnesota, presented the Governor’s budget recommendations for the agency.

John Frawley, Executive Director, and Abigail Mosher, Chief Financial Officer, Minnesota Zoo, presented the Governor’s budget recommendations for the organization.

Lisa Barajas, Community Development Director, and Emmett Mullin, Parks Manager, Metropolitan Council, presented the Governor’s budget recommendations for the organization.

Vice Chair Claflin assumed the gavel at 1:41 P.M.

HF850 (Hansen) Wildlife disease surveillance and response funding provided, and money appropriated.

Chair Hansen moved to lay over HF850 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill.

Chair Hansen moved to adopt the A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Becker-Finn moved to adopt the A3 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Vice Chair Claflin renewed the motion to lay over HF850 for possible inclusion in an omnibus bill. The bill was laid over.

Chair Hansen assumed the gavel at 2:15 P.M.

HF952 (Davids) Root River State Trail funding provided, bonds issued, and money appropriated.

Chair Hansen moved to lay over HF952 for future consideration.

Chair Hansen renewed the motion to lay over HF952 for future consideration. The bill was laid over.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:26 P.M.
