LEGACY FUNDING FINANCE

MINUTES

Representative Layman, Vice Chair of the Legacy Funding Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:07 p.m. on February 13, 2017, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Green moved that the minutes of February 6, 2017 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF806 (Bliss) (Minnesota Humanities Center funding provided, and money appropriated). Vice Chair Layman moved that HF806 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Legacy Funding Finance omnibus bill.

Representative Bliss presented HF806.

Testifying before committee were the following in favor of HF806:

David O’Fallon, President and CEO;
Paul Riedner, Army Veteran, Veteran Resiliance Project, and 2016’s Veterans’ Voices
Awardee.

HF715 (Lesch) (Como Park Zoo and Conservatory funding provided, and money appropriated). Vice Chair Layman moved that HF715 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Legacy Funding Finance omnibus bill.

Testifying before committee were the following in favor of HF715:
Jackie Sticha, President of Como Friends Zoo;
Michelle Furrer, Campus Manager of Como Friends Zoo.
HF 1017 (Urdahl) (Minnesota children's Museum funding provided, and money appropriated). Representative Urdahl moved that HF1017 be laid over for possible inclusion into the Legacy Funding Finance omnibus bill.
Representative Urdahl presented HF1017.
Testifying before committee on behalf of the Minnesota Children’s Museum , was Dianne Krizan, President.
Presentation before committee on behalf of the Minnesota Public Radio was Brian Newhouse (MPR Classical), Director of Public Relations, and John Kavanagh, Director.


The meeting was adjourned at 2:44 p.m.
