MINUTES

Representative Pat Garofalo, Chair of the Job Growth & Energy Affordability Policy & Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 2:08 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, in Room 5 of the State Office Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Anderson moved the minutes of March 28, 2017 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF739 (O’Neill) Small wireless facility collocation provided.

Representative O’Neill moved HF739 be recommended to pass and referred to the General Register.

Representative O’Neill moved the H0739DE7 amendment be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Paul Weirtz, Minnesota State President, AT&T; Margaret Anderson Kelliher, President and CEO of Minnesota High Tech Association and Chair of the Governors Broadband Task Force; Michael McDermott, Executive Director of Government Affairs, Verizon Wireless; Amanda Duerr, Government Relations Representative, Minnesota Municipal Utilities Association; Anna Boroff, Executive Director, Minnesota Cable Communications Association; Laura Ziegler, Senior Intergovernmental Relations Liaison, League of MN Cities; Steve Albrecht, Public Works Director, City of Burnsville; Steven Huser, Government Relations Specialist, Metro Cities; testified on HF739, as amended.

Representative Thissen moved the H0739A7 amendment be adopted.

Representative Thissen incorporated an oral amendment to the H0739A7 amendment: delete lines 1.3 and 1.4 and on line 1.6 delete “2” and insert “subdivisions 3a, 3b, 3c, 6, and 7 paragraph e”.

Representative Thissen withdrew the H0739A7 amendment.

Representative Mahoney moved the H0739A8 amendment be adopted.

Representative Mahoney withdrew the H0739A8 amendment.

Representative O’Neill renewed her motion that HF739, as amended, be recommended to pass and referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 3:45 PM.
