MINUTES

Representative Peggy Scott, Chair of the Civil Law and Data Practices Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:16 AM, on January 12th, 2017, in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Chair Scott called the Meeting to order at 8:16 AM. A quorum was present.

Representative Lucero moved to approve the minutes of January 10th, 2017. THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.

HF22 (Smith) Trusts exempted from reporting requirements.

Representative Smith moved that HF22 be referred to Committee on Agriculture Policy.

Testifying on HF22:
Jennifer Lammers, Minnesota State Bar Association

Representative Smith renewed his motion that HF22 be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF13 (Smith) Incorporator and director powers and duties modified, mergers and conversions regulated, and definitions modified.

Representative Smith moved that HF13 be referred to the General Register.

Representative Smith moved the HF13A2 Amendment. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Kim Lowe, Minnesota State Bar Association

Representative Smith renewed his motion that HF13 as amended be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF46 (Smith) Certificate of value, recording, registration, and other provisions affecting real estate filing changes made.

Representative Smith moved that HF46 be referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance.

Amber Bougie, Minnesota Association of County Officers

Representative Smith renewed his motion that HF46 be re-referred to the Committee on Public Safety and Security Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:55 AM.
