MINUTES

Representative Davids, Chair of the Tax Committee, began the meeting at 10:15 A.M. on March 4th, 2015, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Davids began the meeting at 10:15. A quorum was NOT present.

A quorum was present at 10:19 and the meeting was called to order.

Representative Torkelson moved to approve the minutes from March 3rd, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Representative Davids moved that HF1132 come before the committee.

HF1132 Gunther: Nonprofit animal shelters provided sales tax exemption.

Representative Gunther and Sue Leach of the Watonwan County Humane Society, testified on HF1132, first engrossment.

Representative Davids moved that HF1132 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative McDonald moved that HF229 come before the committee.

HF229 McDonald: Individual subtraction provided for the value of the use of an employer provided fitness facility, and corporate subtraction provided for fitness facility dues for employees.

Representative McDonald, Representative Lillie, Kyle Henning of Anytime Fitness, Denise Hrncir of the Dakota Electric Association, Mark Daly of Anytime Fitness, and Eric Lindseth of Lifetime Fitness, testified on HF229, first engrossment.

Representative McDonald moved that HF229 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative McDonald moved that HF1091 come before the committee.

HF1091 McDonald: Sales tax exemption for meals, drinks, and capital equipment purchases expanded.

Representative McDonald, JJ Haywood of Pizza Luce, David Sincebaugh of Kaskaid Hospitality, and Paul Cumings of the Minnesota Department of Revenue, testified on HF1091, first engrossment.

Representative McDonald moved that HF1091 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.

Representative Loon moved that HF1064 come before the committee.

HF1064 Loon: Dependent care credit expanded.

Representative Loon, Nan Madden of the Minnesota Budget Project, and Paul Cumings of the Minnesota Department of Revenue testified on HF1064, first engrossment.

Representative Loon moved that HF1064 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus tax bill.
