MINING & OUTDOOR RECREATION POLICY COMMITTEE
MINUTES

Representative Hackbarth, Chair of the Mining and Outdoor Recreation Policy Committee, called the seventh meeting to order at 2:50 P.M. on Tuesday, February 10 2015, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Hackbarth called the meeting to order at 2:50 P.M. A quorum was present.

Representative Anzelc moved to approve the minutes of February 4, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F.0184 Drazkowski, Repealing aquatic invasive species prevention program requirements; repealing Minnesota Statutes 2014, sections 84D.13, subdivision 9; 86B.13.

Representative Hackbarth moved that bill H.F.184 be re-referred to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy & Finance.

Representative Drazkowski presented an overview of H.F.184.

The following people testified on H.F.184 and took questions from committee members:
Dan McElroy, Executive Vice President of Minnesota Resort and Campground Association.
Carroll Aasen, Founder of “Repeal the MN Statute 86B.13”.
Bill Eno, Twin Pines Resort, Mille Lacs Lake.
Roger Goeschel, Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Alliance.
Jeff Forester, Executive Director of Minnesota Lakes and Rivers Advocates.
Curtis Hansen, Resident of Lakeland (Washington County).
Bob Meier, Assistant Commissioner of Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Representative Hackbarth renewed the motion to re-refer H.F.184 to the Committee on Environment and Natural Resources Policy & Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 4:23 P.M.
