MINUTES

Representative Bob Gunther, Chair of the Greater Minnesota Economic & Workforce Development Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. on January 22nd, 2015, in Room 10 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.

Representative Sundin moved that the minutes of Thursday, January 20, 2015 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Chair Gunther moved HF1 (Kresha) (Job creation; efficiency goals modified, rulemaking modified, subtraction allowed, research credit rate provisions modified, Minnesota New Markets Jobs Act adopted, business growth capital provided, workforce housing provisions modified and grant provided, taxable income additions provided, land trust provisions modified, new STEM and long-term care employee credit provided, general fund deposits modified, statutory appropriation eliminated, small business grant program created, penalties imposed, and money appropriated), for discussion before committee.

Representative Kresha discussed HF1.

Nonpartisan House Researchers Anita Neumann and Joel Michael explained provisions of HF1.

Toby Pearson VP of Advocacy, Care Providers of Minnesota;
Kari Thurlow, Senior VP of Advocacy, LeadingAge Minnesota;
Genevieve Plumadore, Director of Government Relations, LifeScience Alley;
John Dukich, Manager of Public Policy & Entrepreneurship, Minnesota High Tech Association.

Vice Chair Green assumed the gavel at 2:18 p.m.

Chair Gunther assumed the gavel at 2:22 p.m.






Chair Gunther moved to lay over HF1 in Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
