COMMERCE AND REGULATORY REFORM COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Joe Hoppe, Chair of the Commerce and Regulatory Reform Committee, began the meeting at 2:45 PM on March 15, 2016 in the Basement Hearing Room of the State Office Building. A quorum was not present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present at 2:55 PM and Chair Hoppe called the meeting to order.

Representative Sundin moved to approve the minutes of May 11, 2015. THE MOTION PREVAILED

HF1066 (Kresha)
Competitive market regulation for local exchange carriers provided.

Representative Kresha moved that HF1066 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Kresha renewed the motion that HF1066 be re-referred to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

SF1523 (Smith)
Health coverages regulated and modified.

Representative Smith moved that SF1523 be re-referred to the General Register.

Representative Loonan moved the S1523A9 amendment.

Representative O’Driscoll assumed the gavel at 3:25 PM.

HF1586 (Hoppe)
Assertions of patent infringement in bad faith prohibited, and court authorized to consider factors of evidence of whether an assertion of patent infringement in bad faith or good faith has been made.

Chair Hoppe moved that HF1586 be re-referred to the Civil Law Committee.

Chair Hoppe moved the H1586DE2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED
