MINUTES

Representative Anderson, Chair of the Agriculture Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:16 on February 25, 2015 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Rep. Rarick moves to approve the minutes from February 18, 2015

HF0475 Sponsored Agriculture education community experts allowed.

Rep. Rarick moved that HF475 be re-referred to the Committee on Education Innovation Policy.

Rep. Quam presented on HF0475.

Jerry Schoenfeld, Minnesota Agriculture Educators, testified on HF0475.

Rep. Rarick renewed his motion that House File0475 be re-referred to the Committee on Education Innovation Policy. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0815 Agriculture product motor vehicle weight limit permit requirements amended, and hauling product for use as a biofuel provided.

Rep. Anderson M. moved that House File 815 be re-referred to the Committee on Transportation Policy and Finance.

Testifying on HF0815 Rep. Dill, Abbey Bryduck, Association of Minnesota Counties.

Rep. Anderson M. renewed his motion that House File0815 be re-referred to the committee on Transportation Policy and Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0683 Industrial hemp industry development provided for and regulated, industrial hemp research authorized, rulemaking required, possession of industrial hemp defense provided, Marijuana and Wild Hemp definitions modified, and money appropriated.

Rep. Franson moved that House File0683 be re-referred to the committee on Government Operations and Elections.


Rep. Franson moved the H0683A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testifying on HF0683 Rep. Franson, Rep. Kahn, Thom Petersen, Minnesota Farmers Union.

Rep. Franson renewed her motion that House File 0683, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF0779 Agriculture Research Education, and Technology Transfer Board established, and money appropriated.

Rep. Hamilton moved that HF0779 be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections.

Rep. Hamilton moved the H0779A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Testifying on HF0683 as amended, Jerry Schoenfeld, Minnesota Association of Agriculture Educators.

Rep. Hamilton renewed his motion that House File 779, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Government Operations and Elections. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
