AGRICULTURE POLICY COMMITTEE

MINUTES

Representative Anderson, Chair of the Agriculture Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 on February 18, 2015 in Hearing Room 5 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Anderson called the meeting to order at 10:15 a.m.

A quorum was present at 10:22 a.m.

Representative Poppe moved to approve the minutes from February 11th, 2015.
THE MOTION PREVAILED

Kevin Hennesy, Minnesota Department of Agriculture, presented on bio-diesel and petroleum replacement.

HF0536 Advanced biofuel, renewable chemical, and biomass production incentive programs established; and money appropriated.

Rep. Hamilton moved that HF0536 be re-referred to the committee on Agriculture Finance.

Rep. Hamilton moved the H0536A2 amendment.

Rep. Hamilton renewed his motion on the H0536A2 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Rep. Hamilton moved the H0536A1 amendment.

Rep. Hamilton renewed his motion on the H0536A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED

Brenden Jordan, Vice President Great Plains Institute, Bio-economy Coalition of Minnesota, Brigid Tuck, Senior Economic Impact Analyst, University of Minnesota Extension, Larry Novakoske, Employee Central Minnesota Renewables, Anna Boroff, Minnesota Corn Growers Association, Doug Busselman, Minnesota Farm Bureau, Shawn Schottler, St. Croix Watershed Research Station, Steve Morse, Executive Director, Minnesota Environmental Partnership, testified on HF0536.


Rep. Johnson moved the A15-0049 amendment.

Rep. Johnson withdrew his motion on the A15-0049 amendment.

Rep. Hamilton renewed his motion that HF0536, as amended, be re-referred to the Committee on Agriculture Finance. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:54 a.m.
